Banarasi Mashru Silk Saree – Blue with Red
Available on prepaid orders
Is this a pure silk Banarasi saree?
No. This blue and red Banarasi Mashru silk saree is woven in Mashru – a silk-cotton weave with silk on the outer face and cotton on the inner side. It looks like silk from the outside while staying breathable to wear.
How is Mashru silk different from pure silk?
Mashru is a traditional silk-cotton weave: silk threads form the lustrous outer face and cotton forms the inner side that touches the skin. It gives the rich look of silk with the comfort of cotton.

It is power-loom woven in Varanasi, with the zari motifs woven into the body and pallu.
How long is this saree?
The saree is 5.5 m long, and a 0.8 m unstitched blouse piece is included.
How heavy is this saree?
The blue and red Banarasi Mashru silk saree weighs approx. 800 g.
Which occasions is this saree suitable for?
It suits weddings, Deepavali and grand celebrations, where a bold colour contrast stands out.
How can I style this blue and red saree?
Blue with red needs little more than a red or gold blouse and antique gold jewellery to complete the look.
How should I care for this saree?
Dry clean only. Store folded in a muslin or cotton cloth, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and refold every few months. Do not iron directly on the zari.
Will the colour look exactly like the photos?
